Christina Alexopoulou is the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, responsible for the Transport sector.
Early Life and Education:
Born in October 1978. Grew up in Patras. Studied at the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Patras.
Professional Career:
Worked professionally and entrepreneurially in the wider region of Western Greece, Central Greece, the Peloponnese, and the Ionian Islands from 1998 to 2019.
Implemented numerous local, regional, and national projects.Engaged in social and political activities within the center-right from her school years.
Served as President of ONNED Achaia and Member of the Central Committee of ONNED.Elected as a Prefectural Councilor of Achaia in 2006.
Actively involved in the field of Civil Engineering, holding positions of responsibility in the Technical Chamber of Greece in the Achaia branch and the Central Administration. Ran for office for the first time in 2019 and was elected as a Member of Parliament for Achaia with New Democracy. During her first parliamentary term, she served as Secretary of the
Standing Committee on Cultural Affairs, Secretary of the Library Committee of the Parliament, and Member of the Special Permanent Committee on Regions. Also served as President of the Greece-Switzerland Parliamentary Friendship Group and Member of the Friendship Groups with India and Slovakia. Re-elected with the most votes in the elections of May 21, 2023, and June 25, 2023.
Married to Patras lawyer Theodoros Tzamaloukas. They have a 6-year-old daughter named Penelope.
