Deputy Regional Governor of Agricultural Development of the Region of Western Greece

Andreas Filias is the Deputy Regional Governor for Agricultural Development in the Region of Western Greece.

He was born in Athens and grew up in the city of Patras. He graduated from the Department of Pedagogy at the University of Patras, with a postgraduate diploma specializing in studies on education from the Hellenic Open University.

He has served in Primary Education for 36 years and has been a Principal at several Primary Schools. Andreas Filias was Deputy Mayor for Education Transparency and e- Consultation in the Municipality of Patras from 2011 to 2014. Subsequently, from 2014 to 2019, he was the leader of a municipal coalition and an elected Municipal Councilor. In 2019, he was elected Regional Councilor and appointed Deputy Regional Governor responsible for Administration and e-Governance, Economic Policy, and Fiscal Control. He has been active in Local Government for the past 12 years, with his involvement in public affairs starting during his school years.

Andreas Filias is married and a father of three children.
