Embi Spathi was born in Bologna, Italy. She graduated as a civil engineer from the National Technical University of Athens in 1999 and is currently a PhD candidate at the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Patras.

In 2007, she received training in interior design from the Polytechnic University of Milan, and in 2015, she obtained a postgraduate diploma in environmental design from the Hellenic Open University.

Since 2000, she has run her own architectural office in Patras, while also working as an associate architect at "Tsimpos & Associates architects," based in Athens.
