Ira Sinigalia is a journalist and editor-in-chief of the official magazine of Athens International Airport, ready2board. This particular publication is a case study due to its content composition, unique aesthetics, and successful trajectory over 16 consecutive years. In fact, ready2board, which has been repeatedly awarded, is the largest magazine in Greece with a readership exceeding 2 million readers from 115 countries worldwide.
She studied History at the Ionian University, where she continued with postgraduate studies in Modern Greek History focusing on the Image of the National Enemy in the Macedonian Struggle (early 20th century). She then attended the School of Advertising of the Hellenic Management Association specializing in Creative and received training at the advertising agency D’Arcy.
She has worked as a copywriter in advertising agencies such as Ashley&Holmes and Ogilvy, handling campaigns for Piaggio, Wind, Doctors Without Borders, Whiskas, and Loumidis, among others.
She transitioned into publishing, starting with Fun in Action, the largest publication on outdoor activities in Greece, and Focus, focusing on popular science topics. She became the head of the Greek edition of L’ Officiel and later Conde Nast Traveler, the largest travel magazine worldwide. She then became the managing editor at the Custom Editing department of Liberis Publications. Concurrently, she worked in radio at Capital station with Giorgos Polychroniou, hosting a show dedicated to outdoor activities, another topic she writes about extensively, besides travel, covering analyses on the history of Greek tourism, dominant trends in the travel industry, along with reports on various destinations and intangible cultural heritage issues. Among her collaborations is her role as travel editor at andro.gr.
She has attended the seminar "Credible Thinking in Organizations (Consulting, Leadership, Education)" by the KCC Foundation and the international summer school "Radio as a tool for social development" in Vienna.
