Giannis Nikas is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Tourism Management at the University of Patras and a member of the Laboratory of Information Systems & Forecasting in Tourism.

His current research interests focus on the use of tourism data for studying and forecasting tourism demand, the creation of tourism maps and spatial models for understanding urban tourism and the phenomenon of overtourism, and the study and promotion of new forms of tourism related to new technologies.

His research activities have been published in international journals, collective volumes, and international conferences.
