Assistant Professor at the Department of Tourism Management at the University of Patras
Vasiliki Karioti is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Tourism Management at the University of Patras. She was born in 1973 in Patras and graduated from the University of Patras in 1996 with a degree in Mathematics, specializing in Statistical Theory of Probability and Operational Research. She then obtained an M.Sc. in Statistical Analysis and Stochastic Systems from the University of Manchester (UMIST) in 1997. In 2003, she completed her doctoral dissertation at the National Technical University of Athens, titled "The Development of Statistical Methods in Time Series Models for the Detection of Outliers or Sequences."
From 2005 to 2019, she served as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Accounting and Finance at the Technological Educational Institute of Western Greece. Her research interests include time series analysis, econometrics, neural networks, robust statistics, and medical statistics. She has published papers in international journals and actively participates in scientific conferences.
