Nikos Karaiskos, the current Deputy Mayor of Sanitation and Environment of the Municipality of Aigialeia, was born in 1973 in Aigio, where he permanently resides. Coming from a large family, he has built his own with Katerina Fakou, with whom he has three sons (Manolis, Ilias, and Panagiotis). He is a Technological Electronic Engineer specializing in industrial power electronics, working as a freelancer with a focus on innovative applications and advanced technological solutions.
He maintains an active presence in matters related to sustainable resource management and the circular economy, striving for the continuous improvement of the quality of life in the local community. Since 2019, he has been serving as Deputy Mayor of Sanitation, Green Spaces, Civil Protection, Traffic Equipment, and Mobile Assets, contributing to the development of strategies and implementation of policies that enhance environmental protection and effective civil protection measures. At the same time, he is the President of the Development Organization (KORINTHIAKOS SA-OTA), where he works on creating innovative investment tools, encouraging local entrepreneurship, and upgrading existing infrastructure.
Mr. Karaiskos has served as Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Aigio Nautical Club and spent eight consecutive years as a board member of the Foundation of the Scouts of Greece, highlighting the importance of volunteerism and social contribution. Additionally, he served for ten years as President of the Philodasic Association of Pyrgaki and founded the Association of Families with Three Children, promoting initiatives for social welfare and enhancing environmental awareness.
Currently, he also holds the position of Vice President on the Board of Directors of the Public Legal Entity "Solid Waste Management Association (SYDISA) of Achaia" as well as the Vice Presidency of the LEADER/CLLD 2023-2027 program under "Achaia Development SA," further contributing to strategic planning for effective waste management, the development of modern infrastructure, and the promotion of sustainability. He remains actively engaged in initiatives aimed at the overall environmental and social recovery of Aigialeia, striving to modernize the municipality through comprehensive sustainable development solutions.
