Dr. Anastasia Gadolou was born in Patras. She studied History and Archaeology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
She holds two Master’s degrees, one in Archaeology and another in Sustainable Tourism Development (Culture – Environment – Society). She also earned her PhD from the Department of History and Archaeology of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, where she also conducted postdoctoral research.
Since 1993, she has been a permanent employee of the Ministry of Culture of Greece. Since April 2023, she has served as Director General of the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki.
Her academic work includes two monographs and a number of scientific articles published in Greek and international journals, focusing on the history and archaeology of the Early Historic Period (9th–7th centuries BC) in Achaea. She has delivered lectures at universities in Greece, the United Kingdom, France, and Italy.
Since 2023, she has also organized and participated, on behalf of the Ministry of Culture of Greece, in the annual meeting of the Archaeological Institute of America in the United States.
